Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sandblaster to join our surface preparation team. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality finishes for our industrial coating projects. The Sandblaster will be responsible for preparing surfaces by removing rust, paint, scale, and other contaminants using abrasive blasting equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare metal and other surfaces for coating or painting.
• Inspect surfaces to determine the proper abrasive and blasting techniques required.
• Maintain and troubleshoot sandblasting machinery and equipment as needed.
• Mask or cover areas not to be blasted using tape, rubber, or other materials.
• Ensure all safety protocols and company procedures are followed at all times.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Assist with other preparation or finishing tasks as required by supervisors.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in sandblasting or industrial surface preparation preferred.
• Ability to wear PPE, including respirators and protective suits.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in dusty or noisy environments.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with industrial coatings and paint systems.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Work Environment:

This position involves working in an industrial shop setting, which may be dusty and noisy. Strict adherence to safety standards is required. This person will put on a full suit and go into a shipping trailer type of booth and will manually sandblast parts with hoses.
