Job Overview
Responsible for execution of the master plan associated with manufacturing and production. Planning responsibilities include execution of build plans, execution tracking, creating, and releasing job orders and preparation of shop floor paperwork. Planning activities consistent with a manufacturing facility, including planning and executing Job Orders for internal and external processes.

JOB DUTIES:

· All manufacturing-related planning and purchasing.

· Support the 12-24 month rolling build plan for all finished products and sub-assemblies that are required to meet the corporate budget.

· Work with the purchasing department to maintain the build requirements and MRP settings for materials and production planning purposes.

· Work with the document control and engineering departments to develop and maintain production routers.

· Create and release job orders to fulfill customer orders.

· Create and release job orders and purchase orders for outside processes.

· Monitor status of open job orders and purchase orders and communicate concerns to the necessary department managers.

· Work with all suppliers and internal departments to ensure on time deliveries to our customers.

· Follow-up with received material through receiving inspection to stock.

· Computer entry of purchase orders and job orders.

· Work on new product teams as the Materials and Planning SME.

· Assist production department in other areas as deemed necessary.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Good computer skills. Strong math skills. Thorough understanding of complete purchasing and planning processes.

· Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, new product development environment.

· Knowledge of PC skills (Word, Excel, and Access) and manufacturing data systems required.

· Knowledge of material planning requirements and the ability to execute.

· Knowledge of M2M or other similar ERP system preferred.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure the right products and materials are available at the necessary time, price, quality and without discrepancies.
  • Maintain strict quality and budget standards with purchases.
  • Work with other departments to establish and maintain reorder levels for all related products.
  • Ensure all quality aspects of this position are met.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assignments are both task oriented and objective oriented. Follows established procedures for routine work and receives specific instruction for non-routine work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Degree in Business Administration and CPM in purchasing preferred. Minimum of two years previous planning and or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:

Position requires constant communication within the department, as well as interface with multiple departments throughout the organization. Strong interpersonal skills are required to collect and disseminate information throughout the departments as part of the key role of quality engineering. Requires polished ability of persuasion and negotiation.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must possess ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Quality System Manual. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.

MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS:

Uses critical thinking skills to create original documents, reports and spreadsheets and interpret information furnished in written, oral or schedule form; able to make set goals based on available information and to plan work to meet deadlines; able to be resourceful at problem solving and formulates appropriate responses to requests for services and information from internal or external customers; able to project likely future occurrences based on current or historic data.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.50 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
